Halogen lamp supply voltage is usually divided into AC 220V and DC 12V two kinds.

All the luminous principles of incandescent lamps are using the principle of heat and light objects and the principle of thermal radiation, the simplest incandescent lamp is to the filament to guide enough current, the filament heat to incandescent state, will emit light, but the life of this incandescent lamp will be quite short.

The biggest difference between Halogen Bulb and other incandescent lamps is that the halogen lamp's glass shell is filled with some halogen elemental gas (usually iodine or bromine), and its working principle is: when the filament heats, the tungsten atoms are evaporated and then move toward the glass tube wall, The tungsten vapor is cooled to about 800 ℃ and combined with halogen atoms to form a tungsten halide (tungsten iodide or tungsten bromide). The tungsten halide continues to move to the center of the glass tube and back to the oxidized filament, which, since it is a very unstable compound, is then decomposed into halogen vapor and tungsten after heat, so that the tungsten is deposited on the filament to make up for the evaporated part. Through this regenerative cycle process, the lifetime of the filament is not only greatly prolonged (almost 4 times times the incandescent lamp), but also because the filament can work at higher temperatures, resulting in higher brightness, higher color and higher luminous efficiency.

Halogen lamps are made of tungsten, but are wrapped in a smaller quartz glass shell. Because the glass shell is very close to the filament, it will melt easily if it is made of glasses. The gas in the glass shell consists of a halogen lamp group with different gases. These gases have a very interesting characteristic: they are combined with tungsten vapor. If the temperature is not high enough, the halogen gas combines the tungsten atoms to evaporate and the filament is deposited again. This cycle process, so that the filament lasted a lot of time. Also, it can run a hot filament, which means you get more light energy. You still get a lot of heat, but because the quartz glass shell is so close to the filament, it is hotter than a normal bulb.

Halogen Bulb can also operate at a higher temperature than ordinary incandescent lamps, and their brightness and efficiency are higher. At this temperature, however, ordinary glass may soften, so Halogen Bulb need to be melting with higher quartz glass. Because quartz glass does not block ultraviolet rays, Halogen Bulb usually need to be used in addition to ultraviolet filters.

If the crystal glass on the halogen bulb has oil, it will cause the temperature of the glass to be different and reduce the life of the bulb. Therefore, when changing Halogen Bulb to avoid manual touch bulb glass. If you touch your finger, you should clean it with alcohol.

Halogen lamp is an improvement of incandescent lamps, it retains the advantages of incandescent lamp: simple, low cost, brightness easy to adjust and control, color rendering Good (ra=100).

(1). When installing Halogen Bulb, please turn off the power and use the plastic sleeve to protect the glass shell of the bulb clean, do not touch with the hand, such as careless touch, please wipe clean with alcohol.

(2). Halogen Bulb using high temperature resistant quartz glass, such as stained hand or oil, will make the loss of luster quartz glass, become white turbidity and reduce brightness, shorten life, or even glass shell rupture.

(3). Halogen lamp lighting, sealing at the temperature can not exceed 350 degrees, otherwise it will shorten the life of halogen lamp, so the halogen lamp ventilation cooling must be good.

(4). When Halogen Bulb are lit, avoid the air conditioner directly blowing into the bulb.

(5). Halogen lamps to avoid shock or shock.

(6). Halogen Bulb in the light or just after the lights, because the bulb temperature is still very high, absolutely not hand to touch.

(7). Halogen lamp should not be opened/off frequently, otherwise it will shorten its life obviously. The reason is: compared with normal work, in the light of the moment, the temperature of the tungsten wire in the lamp is very low, so the resistance is very small, at the same voltage, the current is much larger than the normal working current, so the tungsten atoms evaporate faster, and because the gas temperature in the bulb is relatively low, the decomposition speed of the tungsten halide is slow, So the tungsten atoms back to tungsten are much less than normal work. Thus in the light of the moment, tungsten filament consumption is the largest, so frequent on/off will significantly shorten the filament life.
